MEDIATION & LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Sometimes, when you find mediation, mediation finds you.

SC Family Mediation has opportunities for 5 A-Team (one day every week) volunteer mediators, and up to 5 B-Team (one day every other week) volunteer mediators to begin online training in July 2023.

We serve multiple California court systems, primarily the Los Angele County Superior Dependency Courts.  Our volunteers continue to earn their place among the best mediators you’ll find, with in-person agreement rates consistently over 90%, and online family success rates of 88% and better.

We co-mediate weekdays from 7:45AM to 3:30PM.  Online or in-person mediations available.  We have developed a system of mediation excellence requiring a beginner’s mind & growth mindset, regardless of your level of experience.

Next step: Email a brief Bio, CV, or resume to info@socalfm.org

We are looking forward to mediating with you.

Leadership Opportunities

If you believe in a better form of social peace & justice, we are looking forward to meeting you!  It's an exciting time to be a part of our small & fast-growing mediation nonprofit.  Leadership (Tiger Team) positions are currently volunteer-based, soon to be volunteer-to-hire, based on funding.  Weekends & after hours, okay...Great!

Next step: Email a brief Bio, CV or resume to info@socalfm.org

We are looking forward to knowing you, friend.

Online Dispute Resolution (ODR)

#1 for 2022: ODR Mediation Family Success Rate, 88% #1 for 2021: ODR Mediation Family Success Rate,

Something special is happening here.  Everything begins with our amazing administration team.  They set the tone, in preparation for each mediation.  Parents and mediators alike appreciate the extra support and attention provided by these charismatic and caring professionals.

We provide in-person and on-line mediations for those who need us most.

Learn to adapt and innovate styles & strategies.  You will be helping underserved & underfunded families & children in dire need of agreements.

A frequent reason given for satisfaction with mediating with this program is the quality and commitment of our team members.

VO-LU-NE-SIA: That moment when you forget you’re volunteering to help change lives,

    because it’s changing yours.

    We promote from within.

80-Hour "Advanced Family & Dependency Mediation" Training

We offer California Judicial Counsel approved training.

    • 40-Hours Instruction   (free for our volunteers)
    • 40-Hours Field Training   (free for our volunteers)
    • Annual Continuing Education   (free for our volunteers)

    So what's the catch?

    1. The most challenging mediations can take a half day to a full day to resolve.  There's no way around it, a full weekday commitment (8:00AM to 4:00PM) is required, at least every other week.
    2. We invest heavily in our mediators, and ask for a minimum two-year (48-mediation) commitment in return (but we really want you for life).
